Mezzo Soprano

As a professional performer, Darci has sung oratorio, opera and musical theatre with ensembles including New Mexico Polyphony, Boulder Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Opera on the Menu, and Quintessence. In 2009, she made her international debut with La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy. Her notable opera and musical theatre roles include Florence Pike in Albert Herring, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Mercedes in Carmen, Terentia in Beautiful Bridegroom, Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, ensemble in Zozobra: The Revenge, and Nellie Forbush in South Pacific.

Darci has appeared as featured mezzo-soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Durante’s Magnificat, Mozart’s Mass in C, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Bach’s Magnificat, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Bach’s Cantata 161. She is the mezzo-soprano soloist on the recording of Brad Ellingboe’s Requiem.

Darci earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico. She has studied with coaches and teachers including Olga Perez Flora, Michael Hix, Adriana Hardy, Neil Rosenshein, and Nina Hinson.
